Y’all must know by now, I love cooking in my little Cottage Kitchen! There’s little else that I enjoy more than serving great food to family and friends. Following are some of my favorite tools that help me make that happen. Be sure and check back, as I intend to add more.

KitchenAid Mixer
KitchenAid KL26M1XER Professional 6-Qt. Bowl-Lift Stand Mixer – Empire Red

My KitchenAid Mixer has a story far too long to tell on a resource page. Suffice it to say, Stache has generously made sure I have this highly favored kitchen tool. Mine looks just like this one. It’s my second Mixer. I burned up the first one grinding fresh wheat back in the day, – but as I said, it’s a long story! I love my KitchenAid and use it often. It’s a Kitchen tool of all kitchen tools!

OXO Good Grips Salad Spinner

I count on my salad spinner! If you wash and prep your lettuce, a spinner is essential to avoiding wet salads. And any leftover prepared lettuce lasts much longer if you can get it spun dry. I highly appreciate this tool!

KitchenAid 1.25-Liter Electric Kettle

OK, I’ll admit it. I DO have an electric Kettle. But it’s not nearly as cute as this one! This item is actually on my mental ‘Wish List’ (meaning, I haven’t told ‘you know who’ just yet), – waiting for when my quite basic version dies. Isn’t this just begging for a tea party?! *[Update January 2021: Guess what Stache bought me?! I now have this kettle here in my Cottage Kitchen and I love it! It’s as cute and functional as it looks.]

Cuisinart 14 Cup Coffee Maker

Stache and I can sip ourselves through two pots of coffee a day between us. Our 12 cup Cuisinart has been hanging with us for some years now and has been a well-appreciated gift from Stache’s folks!!

My son-in-love bought this 14 ‘cupper’ version for our daughter last year, and she’s been delighted with it. When our pot sees it’s last day, we’ll be reaching for this one, thank you!

KitchenAid Blade Coffee and Spice Grinder

What would a huge coffee pot be without a grinder in the cupboard to grind excellent coffee? I can’t even think of it! The great thing about this particular grinder is that it comes with multiple cups. Mixing your coffee with your spices or vice versa is a thing of the past, – unless you want it that way!

Le Creuset Enameled Cast Iron Oval 9.5 Quart Dutch Oven

This pot is my favorite in all my kitchen. Before you assume me wealthier than the truth, this purchase was an extra special gift from Stache, in which he found an exceptional deal for my Birthday, quite a few years ago. Nothing else in my kitchen comes close. Stache was so proud of this generous gift; like a boy on Christmas!

Soon after I received it, one of our young children at the time, accidentally dropped the lid while helping with clean up. Wouldn’t you know it but this finely crafted tool in my humble home, -was far too quickly humbled by a cracked handle. Stache took it a bit hard. But, all these years later, that handle still makes me smile. Although we could technically replace it, it doesn’t affect the pot’s functionality. And it brings so many lovely memories to mind. I would be sad to lose it.

But about that pot! …I couldn’t begin to count the many extraordinary dishes that have come from that pot. Definitely a favorite!

Lodge 3.6 Quart Enameled Cast Iron Pan

This enameled cast-iron casserole/skillet is on my stove most every day. It’s a reliable “workhorse,” so to speak. With our large family, it’s a favorite!

9-inch OXO Good Grip Stainless Steel Locking Tongs

I have two pairs of these tongs. I use them EVERY day. They are like my second hands. Honestly, if I happen to be cooking away from home, I’m totally lost without them.

OXO Good Grips 11-Inch Better Balloon Whisk

I didn’t grow up with a whisk in the kitchen. My Southern mama made do with a fork, where ever most cooks might use a whisk. Naturally, I’ve learned to use both. But no doubt, a whisk consistently the work faster and easier. This one has served me well.

Danish Dough Whisk

I guess it’s been about four years now. My mother-in-love showed up with one of these as a surprise gift for me. Goodness, it has won my respect! It’s a very fine kitchen tool to have around. I use it for any sort of bread dough, especially for mix-ins, pizza dough, and when making my no-knead bread. Great tool!
