Dates with Stache

It won’t take long for you to discover, Stache and I enjoy going out on dates together. While some couples enjoy dates of hiking and biking and dancing and such, -which are all great, don’t get me wrong(!), Stache and I enjoy traveling, long sightseeing drives, searching out restaurants and critiquing food. Truth to tell, we mostly do breakfast, it’s the cheapest meal around.

Stache is a self-driven, hard-working man. On top of his usual 10 hour days at his career job, he comes home and runs our simple hobby farm. And then there’s our large family and community he participates in. You quickly see with so many demands on his time, why getting out for dates, is so important to us. It’s a quick way to get his attention.

This collection of stories is simply about our kind of fun, along with Restaurant critiques and recommendations of those we happen to discover. You might be wondering how in the world do dating stories and restaurant critiques fit into a Titus 2 blog?

The connection here is primarily the acknowledgment of time, gifts, thoughtfulness, and tangibly expressed love in a marriage. It hasn’t always been easy between us. These qualities are precious and worthy of celebration!

As I share these sometimes over-the-top experiences with you, I am consciously aware that you may be in dramatically different circumstances. I understand and don’t intend to cause you any pain.

In our thirty-six years of marriage, Stache and I have suffered through some significant lean times as well as some rough relationship times. And to be honest, we have no promise that our current situation will be with us tomorrow. No one does, right?

But that again is precisely why these experiences are shared. I am rejoicing in answered prayers, attempting to never forget a good gift from the Father. These gifts are not deserved, but I am thankful and passionate about remembering and walking in gratefulness. I hope you’ll join me in that because gratefulness is God-honoring!

Give me a holler if you know of a place we should check out. We’re from Central Indiana, but as you’ll see, we somehow manage to get around a bit.
