Where would I have been without the faithful biblical counsel of fellow Christian parents before me? Learning from both their failures and successes, I’m so grateful for the authors of faithful Christian parenting books I have used for understanding alongside God’s Word.

Encouragement, Challenge, and Direction

Addressing issues that I may not have previously understood or affirming direction God wanted me to take, biblical parenting books have been a great encouragement to me along the way. Even as I’ve become a grandparent, a continued study on parenting gives me a fresh understanding and the ability, when asked, to encourage my kids in their parenting.

Following is a list of highly recommended Christian parenting books currently on my bookshelf (or Kindle). I encourage you to check back through the list from time to time as I further review and add new selections – there are plenty more great ones I haven’t gotten to just yet.

Additionally, I’ve found I love participating in new book launch teams, particularly with authors I have high regard for their earlier work. Look for pre or recently-released books listed first on the list.

I listened to the audiobook Parenting on a long road trip to visit some of our grandbabies. It was both encouraging and challenging. It led me away from fear and doubt looking back on my parenting to ‘the rescuing grace of God.’

I’m so thankful for this book! Subtitled ‘Dazzling Your Kids with the Love of Jesus,’ I only wish I had known of it earlier in my parenting. But God knew and knows as always. Most assuredly this counsel will aide me as a faithful Grammie.

Oldies but Goodies

War Of Words covers such a broad spectrum of parenting, I’d have to say, next to the Bible, if I had to choose only one parenting book to help my understanding, It would be this one. See my full review here

A true classic. Fresh out of my own teen rebellion when I first became a mother, God enabled me to discern early on, reaching our children’s heart was of utmost importance.

The first parenting book I ever read, and I consider it a blessing! This book and its counsel stuck with me throughout my parenting years –originally published in 1986! Resonating deeply with some of my earliest discerned needs of expressed love and blessing within parenting, I am grateful for the message of this book.
